Shims are applied to your pad set and can be re used at pad change unless damaged. EBC Brakes' titanium shims are designed to reduce heat transfer on all types of pads. I bought this set with low expectations to replace my OEM grill which was falling apart and getting loose. I thought, not much to lose. They actually turned out to fit and look great. Just one tip-- when installing, be sure that you are correctly positioning the tension clips to be in contact with the end of the hood notch. There are a lot of Youtube guides you can find online to help you with it. Otherwise, they will just be totally loose and not fit correctly.
